After the initial enthusiasm of a dry January or the trips to the gym, our determination is now being tested as we head into February and everything becomes a bit tougher. The weather gets colder and Valentines offers chocolates and dinner, and in my case rugby socials – therefore more occasions to imbibe! So this February we are looking to help you stay on track.
Together with celebrity Online Fitness Coach, Tim Drummond, we want to help.
Tim has kindly agreed to offer one of his ‘January Resolution Re-set’ sessions to one lucky winner.*
This will be value filled, and Tim will take you through the 3 reasons why your not dropping the weight you wanted to, and offer you the EXACT 3 things you need to do to drop 8-10lbs in February, while improving your productivity through building a new built-proof focus and health.
It will be perfect for business owners and executives who feel that their drive in work has negatively affected their health, and are concerned this will limited their success.
These sessions are usually £150, but one of you will get this opportunity for free.
Check out his website www.aretewhite.com – and he said feel free to add him on www.Facebook.com/timdrummondcom

Working out and eating better has now become a common hobby and passion for individuals as it’s become much more creative and enjoyable. However, if you’re a working professional, it can be hard to incorporate keeping fit and your health goals into your working life. Working out and eating better has many benefits for a busy worker especially with the continuous health warnings of long hours sitting at our desks and secret snacking. It helps to reduce stress, makes you more alert, encourages you to meet new people and gets you out of the office.
Why are you hearing this from talent consultants?
Well we listen to Candidates and Clients and there is plenty of evidence to suggest that a fitter employee in mind and body is better for company productivity. Secondly we’d like to share our experience as we have been using PT’s at Scout for a few months now and the benefits are there for all to see – it also adds a bit of ‘healthy’ competition!
Below are some tips for your mind and body that will help you be more proactive and manage your time well, so you don’t have to fall behind on your fitness and health goals and fit it into your working day:
- Don’t skip breakfast
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, therefore don’t skip it! Everyone says it for a reason – ‘breakfast like a King’. To enhance your metabolic rate, you should have your breakfast before 8am. The best and easiest to prepare breakfast options are oats or muesli with natural or greek yogurt and fruit, an egg or baked beans on granary toast, or even a protein or breakfast shake that you can grab on your way out.
- Find office friends who enjoy fitness
If you need inspiration to get yourself working out, you can find a friend at the office to get fit with. Going for runs after work or to gym classes are much more fun with a colleague who is going through it as well. You can also take it turns to bring healthy lunches, set goals for each other and reward each other. Also, having someone to share your experiences with, will help keep up your enthusiasm. This technique has been found to be successful and also generates healthy, fun competition amongst colleagues!
- Workout on your commute
If you live not too far from work, you should consider cycling, jogging or simply walking to and from work. If you ditch the car, bus or train a few times a week, you’ll be saving yourself some money as well as having the opportunity to fit in exercise. You could also take a longer walk at lunch time or run up the stairs at work – the small things really help.
- Little and Often
Working out doesn’t have take over your life or even require a gym – gyms don’t suit everyone. The first 15 minutes are the most important. Just remember to keep the intensity high as this will be more effective and finding a spare half hour shouldn’t be too difficult. There are lots of apps, blogs and websites dedicated to easy-to-do exercises. Create a space in your lounge or get out in the garden, put on your favourite songs and find yourself some routines that are fun or that you enjoy.
- Avoid bad snacking but eat regularly
Treats are always being passed around offices and sometimes you can find yourself eating them without even realising it and they don’t satisfy your hunger. It’s important to snack throughout the day, but on the right things that provide health benefits. Carrots and hummus, almonds, avocado, a small piece of dark chocolate, peanut butter are some snacks that still satisfy the cravings but can be better for you.
- Healthy mind, Healthy body
Half the battle is in your head and winning this battle will help with the body and the same can be said when going for an interview or preparing your self for a new challenge. Win the mind over and the body will follow, you will then form good habits and you will find it need not be boring!
*Winner: Subject to health assessment and timings, a cash alternative is not offered.
