I think I can safely say that the two days spent on the Thomas Education Personal Profile Analysis (PPA) training course, was the most interesting and insightful training course I have ever experienced.
PPA is a tool that can identify people’s behaviours in the workplace. It’s derived from Marston’s theory – “emotions of normal people” published in 1928.
We spent the first day learning the basics of what the DISC profiling meant and the associating descriptive words for the four behavioural factors. The DISC letters stand for Dominance, Influence, Steadiness and Compliance. . Together these attributes form a profile of your behaviour through a short assessment that only takes 10-15 minutes.
Using this information is priceless – you can identify someone’s working strengths, their motivation and basic fear as well as their value to the organisation. Utilising this together with the knowledge of their job description would be very useful when understanding their working style in their new or current position.
Not only did I gain valuable information that will help me in my role of recruiting staff for clients, I met some really lovely people from different walks of life which was enlightening, and the tutor was a very friendly yet confident lady who seriously knew her stuff.
I can safely say this course was more than worthwhile and I have already found myself analysing people both at work and in my personal life.
Stace x
