It only seems like yesterday that Scout opened their doors to me (cliché alert ;)) and I have learnt an incredible amount! A year ago I was just a young man starting his first real job not really knowing what to expect within the recruitment and Marketing and Advertising industry.
I’ve been really lucky to be guided by two ex. Marketeers and I have learnt so much from Rebecca and Nick. They have taken the time to really make sure that I understand what they are talking about and more importantly what I’m talking about when speaking to candidates.
I was even given month-long work placements within some of our Clients so I really got a feel of what the atmosphere was like and how fast-paced the world of Advertising is. This gave me a huge insight and I try to use these experiences as much as possible.
During my first year I was also completing a Level 2 Apprenticeship within Recruitment. This gave me more knowledge of the Recruitment process and having to complete practical tasks to ensure I completed my NVQ.
I have also had to complete and understand numerous psychometric testing techniques and found out that I have the personality of a Lion (take the test on icould.com and let us know what you are) and also a high ‘I’ according to Thomas International profiling. This means that I like to talk…. A LOT!! Which I guess isn’t such a bad thing working in Recruitment?
Out of hours we have a great social life here at Scout as well. Attending Henley Regatta was definitely a highlight of the year so far. It was the hottest day of the year, I almost produced the greatest comeback ever in a table tennis match against Nick and the team had such a great day together!
All in all I have had a great year and I hope that the next one is even better!!
